Fees, Funding and Rebates

  • Medicare provides a rebate for up to five allied health sessions per calendar year for individuals with ongoing conditions. Eligibility for these rebates is determined by your GP.

These rebates can be allocated entirely for speech pathology services, or can be shared between a combination of medical and allied health services, including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Audiology, etc.

We will provide you with a receipt to claim your Medicare rebate online after payment has been processed for your appointment.

For more information and to determine if your child is eligible for this rebate, please consult your GP.

  • Whale Talk Speech Pathology can accept National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) clients who have self-managed NDIS funds only at this time.

We can support you and your child in a variety of ways to achieve their NDIS and communication goals.

If your child is getting ready to apply for the NDIS, we can help you with your planning needs, support you through the application process and provide an advocacy report.

  • Under some private health extras cover, you may be able to claim Speech Pathology assessments and therapy sessions.

The rebate amount will depend your individual level of cover and your individual health fund.

Please contact your health fund provider directly for further information regarding your level of cover.

If you would like further information about the item number/s used for your service, please contact us directly.
